"The song “Headed South” was inspired by a girl I saw step off the train at Moorefield. She looked very perplexed and was obviously troubled. She went back to the ticket booth and asked

In anticipation of their album release, "Headed South," West Virginia's Crandall Creek Band now offers up the title song ”Headed South."  The vocal single by bluegrass newcomers Lilli, Jerry and Kathy offer up dynamic harmonies and soulful vocal performances that are unique to their sound.  Crandall Creek’s fusion of folk, bluegrass, and gospel music is not the only thing which plays a role in their sound - it's their harmonies and original songs that set them apart. Jerry Andrews, Kathy Wigman, and Lilli Gadd write most of the band's tunes, reflecting their real experiences of everyday life in West Virginia.

Crandall Creek has already impacted the bluegrass industry by charting in the top five with “Driving Me Insane” on the Grassicana charts (12 weeks in a row), and a #1 debut with “This Heart of Mine”. They are surely becoming a familiar name on the bluegrass radio airways.

Appalachian love, coal mining, and heartfelt spirituals can be heard and enjoyed as familiar themes in Crandall Creek’s recordings. Their vocals are unique and so authentic as only a group who create music by writing, traveling, and performing consistently together can be. Although they are not family, they sound and perform music like the best family bands in the industry.  Crandall Creek's bluegrass music is as authentic as the hills of West Virginia. It doesn't get any better than that!
